Michelle is a qualified Walking Group Leader and holds a current Mountain First Aid certificate, with a wealth of experience in leading walks and camps in the mountains and moorlands of Britain and beyond.
Michelle is renowned for leading friends and groups across hills and dales to enjoy the chance to safely explore the landscape.
She works with children, young people and adults.

Restore & Explore: Hedgerow Herbal Day

Many common wayside plants were stock home remedies for centuries. We only stopped using them when modern medicines became more accessible. Our abundant, local hedgerow plants have incredibly useful properties that are well worth rediscovering. Join Natalie & Lesley for a practical hand-on day along the lanes and in the kitchen. Identify a number of common plants to safely help with everyday health problems and learn to make some home remedies for you and your family. TALK: Discover Herbs for Health in Your Garden

Come and discover how Rose, Mahonia, Berberis, Broom, Hydrangea and other common garden plants are widely used in modern herbal medicine. I will also be talking about the lesser-known medicinal uses of culinary herbs such as Thyme, Rosemary, Sage and Mint uses. Supported by a visual PowerPoint presentation. MIDSUMMER HERB WALK
Guided herb walk across the Mid-Wales countryside in conjunction with ‘Walks of Paradise’ guide, Michelle Brydie. Michelle will take us on a breathtaking route with myself identifying and talking about the abundance of native medicinal plants along the way.
The walk will include a homemade cake and tea break.

THE NATIONAL TRUST
As part of ‘Herb Awareness Week’ this year ( June 20th – 28th), this is one in a series of events by Natalie Morris.
The walk will take place around the luxurious gardens, set against the backdrop of the stunning castle and surrounding countryside. We will be identifying common garden kitchen herbs that are known for their culinary uses and discovering their wider, lesser known medicinal uses. Also we will be discovering the diverse range of plant medicines that are to be found in the more unsuspecting garden plants.
We will talk about the chemical constituents found in herbs and how they exert their medicinal effects, what sorts of medical conditions they can be used to treat and how they can be used/applied.
DATE: SATURDAY 20th JUNE
TIME: 2.00p.m – 4.00p.m
COST: The walk is FREE but you do have to pay to get into the Castle.

THE NATURAL HARMONY CENTRE
Another in the series of Midsummer Herb walks as part of ‘Herb Awareness Week’.
The walk will take place around the young woodlands and grounds of the Natural Harmony Centre near LLanerfyl. We will be identifying mostly common native medicinal plants and some cultivated plants. Learn how the plants can be used to treat minor ailments and medical conditions.
Come join the magic!

This walk will take place in the sumptious grounds of the National Trust property, Attingham Park near Shrewsbury.
The first part of the walk will take place around the ‘Mile Walk’, along the riverside and through woodland.The plants we will identify here will be wild herbal medicines. We will finish in the ‘Walled Garden’, taking in the more cultivated medicinal garden plants and kitchen herbs.
We will be learn about the chemical constituents that are in the plants, how they exert their medicinal action, what ailments they can treat and how they are taken medicinally.

COST: £2.00 per Adult, (kids go free). However, normal admission prices apply to the property.
